Pathways to BIArb Membership: Qualifications & Criteria

Bangladesh International Arbitration (BIArb) offers membership to individuals and entities passionate about alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Our pathways cater to diverse professionals, fostering expertise in arbitration and mediation.

Membership is open to those with a genuine interest in ADR, including lawyers, arbitrators, mediators, academics, business professionals, law firms, and trading organizations. Applicants must demonstrate good standing and a commitment to ethical ADR practices, aligning with BIArb’s mission to promote efficient dispute resolution under Bangladesh’s Arbitration Act, 2001.

Membership Pathways

  • Associate Membership: For beginners; requires basic ADR knowledge and a relevant degree or experience.
  • Member (MBIArb): For emerging practitioners; needs proven ADR training or mediation/arbitration experience.
  • Fellow (FBIArb): For advanced practitioners; demands extensive arbitration experience and peer interview.

Application Criteria: Submit a resume, qualifications, and a statement of ADR interest via www.biarb.org.bd. Fellows must showcase advanced arbitration knowledge. BIArb evaluates applications for integrity and expertise.
